Auxiliary lamp driving apparatus for setting a subject composition in a night photographing additionally mounts auxiliary lamp(L1) in a prior compact camera, and increases a product reliability. The apparatus includes: a microcomputer(1); a camera driving part including a brightness detector and a key signal input part(5), for applying an output signal of the shutter release 1-stage and 2-stage switches(S1,S2) to the microcomputer(1); a subject check means which is mounted to one side of a camera, and is selectively driven by the brightness detector.
