PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a rapier band to be used in a rapier loom by preventing the wear of the wall surface of its hole. SOLUTION: The sprocket hole 23 of a rapier band 22 is trapezoidal. The wall surfaces 27, 28 of the tooth 26 of a sprocket wheel 21 are made up of noninterference-shaped sites 272, 282 above a nonshrinkable layer C and interference-shaped sites 271, 281 below the layer C, respectively. The noninterference-shaped sites 272, 282 are in no contact with the wall surfaces 27, 28, respectively, while the interference-shaped sites 271, 281 are conjugated with the wall surfaces 24, 25 of the rapier band 22 being in wrapped state, respectively. The respective curved surfaces of the noninterference-shaped sites 272, 282 are constituted of involute curve, while those of the interference-shaped sites 271, 281 are conformed to the wall surfaces 24, 25 of the rapier band being in wrapped state.
|
