PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil having a cap with reduced possibility of coming off the writing utensil main body, and capable of readily confirming a proper attachment/detachment of the cap. SOLUTION: On the peripheral surface of a tip end part and distal end part of a writing utensil 1, an engaging part 2b comprising an annular projection 2b1 at the tip end side and an annular recess 2b2 at the tip end side and a engaging part 2e comprising an annular projection 2e1 of the tip end side and an annular recess 2e2 at the central side are formed respectively, and a plurality of engaging projections are formed on the inner peripheral surface of a cap 7 at given distances in the peripheral direction. In order for the cap 7 to be attached/detached relative to the writing utensil main body 1, the engaging projections are caused to come over the annual projection 2b1 to engage and disengage with the annual recess 2b2, and during the use of the writing utensil main body 1, the engaging projections of the cap 7 come beyond the annual recess 2b1 at the shaft pipe distal end side and engage to the annual recess 2e2 for mount thereon, so that the cap becomes hard to come off when it is not wanted, and when the cap 7 is mounted, the engaging projections engage to the annular recess 2b2 or annular recess 2e2 with a sound of click. |
