<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conditioning dredged earth and sand by which the elution of ammonia contained in underwater earth and sand can he effectively inhibited by adding cement to the earth and sand, kneading them, adding zeolite to the mixture and kneading the resulting mixture again to produce an easily utilizable cemented product. SOLUTION: Dredged earth and sand are conditioned by adding cement to underwater earth and sand, kneading them, adding zeolite to the kneaded mixture and kneading the resultant mixture again. According to this process, the elution of ammonium can be effectively inhibited when underwater earth and sand is solidified with cement, and the solidified earth and sand are returned to the bottom of water or when it is used for water surface refilling. Because the zeolite is a substance being a silicate of Al and Na and can selectively and tightly adsorb ammonium, the elution of ammonia from underwater soil and sand can be effectively inhibited.</p> |
