PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an image after recording to be fixed, and develop a printed part in red. SOLUTION: This thermal recording medium is composed of a microcapsule containing a diazonium salt, a coupler which chemically reacts with the diazonium salt to develop a color, an organic base and a sensitizer for lowering the melting point of the coupler. The coupler to be used is dimedon. In this case, when an ordinary thermal printer is used for printing, a printed part is heated by a thermal head to develop a color. Next, the thermal recording medium is irradiated with an ultraviolet ray and afterward, the part other than the printed part is heated by the thermal head, but the thermal recording medium does not develop a color at all. Consequently, an image can be fixed by emitting the ultraviolet ray to the thermal recording medium after recording. |
