PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new strain having the resistance to S-(2- aminoethyl)-L-cysteine at a high concentration by carrying out the mutation treatment of a Streptomyces albulus species microorganism having the ability to produceε-poly-L-lysine. SOLUTION: This strain is obtained by carrying out the mutation treatment of a Streptomyces albulus species microorganism having the ability to produceε-poly-L-lysine and is a new B21021 strain (FERM P-15193) capable of producing a remarkable amount ofε-poly-L-lysine having the resistance to S-(2- aminioethyl)-L-cysteine at a concentration as high as >=10mg/ml concentration and useful for production, etc., of theε-poly-L-lysine capable of being expected for applications such as toiletry products, cosmetics, feed additives, medicines, agrochemicals, food additives and electronic materials. The strain is obtained by treating Streptomyces albulus subsp. lysinopolymerus 11011A-1 strain (FERM P-1109) with a mutation inducer. |
