PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the freedom in mounting onto car body by arranging each axis of an electric motor and a ball screw mechanism in parallel with the axis of a master cylinder. SOLUTION: The electric motor and the ball screw mechanism 50 of a motor- driven booster 10 are arranged, with their axes in parallel with that of a master cylinder M, so at the time of mounting into the engine room of the car body, the length of the master cylinder M and the motor-driven booster 10 in the direction along the longitudinal direction of car body can be shortened relatively, and the occupation space can be made relatively small. Moreover, the arrangement positions of the electric motor and the ball screw mechanism 50 may be at any place along the peripheral direction of the master cylinder M, and the freedom in installation of the master cylinder M and the motor-driven booster 10 in engine room can be made relatively large. |
