PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the yield and production efficiency by reducing the amount of a tongue produced at the end parts of a material to be rolled in rolling of shapes having a web part and flange parts. SOLUTION: In the method by which, shapes consisting of the web part 71 and the flange parts 72 are manufactured in an intermediate rolling stage with an intermediate universal roughing mill and an edging mill and in a finish rolling stage with auniversal finishing mill by using a rough shape material formed with a break down mill or a rough shape material cast by a continuous casting method as a base stock, before rolling in the intermediate rolling stage, the width regions of 20-80% at both end parts in the length direction of the material to be rolled of a part to which web reduction is applied in a rolling step in the intermediate rolling stage is pressed and reduced in the thickness direction of web with a pair of press dies. |
