摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound excellent in optical purity, useful as a synthetic 3-aminopyrrolidine useful as a constituent element for a physiologically active substance such as an agrochemical and a medicine. SOLUTION: RS-N-benzyl-3-aminopyrrolidine in an amount of 1mol is reacted with preferably 0.75-1.25mol of a tartaric acid derivative (e.g. D-diacetyltartaric acid) of formula I (R is methyl or p-methylphenyl) or formula II as a reagent for optical resolution in a solvent (e.g. water or ethanol) at 0-100 deg.C and subjected to optical resolution to give an optically active n-benzyl-3-aminopyrrolidine as the objective compound. RS-N-benzyl-3-aminopyrrolidine used in the reaction, for example, is obtained in high yield by reducing and aminating N-benzyl-3- pyrrolidone.
