<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a constitution of a determining device for determining a printing initial position and a capping release error prevention device in an ink-jet printer. SOLUTION: This printer is constituted of a carriage 20 capable of reciprocating between a printing area and a service area and a head 30 which is mounted to the carriage to print in the printing area and can cap a nozzle 31 by a cap 71 at the service area. Moreover, the printer is provided with a first actuator 50 set at the side of the service area of the carriage, a second actuator 60 set at the side of the printing area of the carriage, and a sensor mounted at a frame to sense passing of the first and second actuators. The sensor detects an initial position of the carriage by the first actuator and detects a capping release error of the head by the second actuator.</p> |
