PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a makeup cosmetic excellent in makeup durability by compounding spherical powder of an organopolysiloxane elastomer with water absorbing polymer powder. SOLUTION: This makeup cosmetic is obtained by compounding 0.1-20wt.% of spherical powder of an organopolysiloxane elastomer having an average particle diameter of 1.0-15.0μm with 0.1-20wt.% of water absorbing polymer powder (e.g. calcium alginate powder). The spherical powder of the organopolysiloxane elastomer is prepared e.g. by using an addition reaction- curing organopolysiloxane composition consisting of a diorganopolysiloxane having silicon atom-bound hydrogen atoms and an organopolysiloxane having silicon atom-bound vinyl groups, which hardens by an addition reaction in the presence of a platinum catalyst, as raw materials, and being hardened followed by drying. The spherical powder of the organopolysiloxane elastomer gives smooth feeling of the application to the skin, improves usability such as extendibility, freshness and soft feeling and capable of increasing makeup durability without increasing the compounding ratio of the water absorbing polymer powder.
