PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a roll by forming a web thickness, a flange thickness and a flange width in the dimension of the final product with an universal rolling mill, straightening the flange angle in the right angle against the web without drawing a steel to be rolled with a flange forming mill and producing a shape steel. SOLUTION: A steel is rolled by repeatedly passing it in one stand or plural stands of universal rolling mill 91, that is, a precise universal rolling mill 41. Vertical rolls 91a, 14a of the rolling mill are formed in a head cut cone like from the center of roll axial direction toward the axial end. In 'X-X rolling' as a flange part of the steel is inclined outside, intermediate and finishing rolling are executed. At the final pass of the rolling, the steel is formed in the web thickness, the flange thickness and the flange width of the final product. The flange part inclining outside is formed by hot finishing in the right angle against the web with a flange forming mill 141 arranged at the rear face of the universal rolling mill 91, 14 group. At that time, only the flange part is formed in the right angle without drawing the steel to be rolled. |
