Hydrogen synthesis from a naphthene-containing feedstock, of average boiling point less than or equal to that of the mixture of aromatics resulting after dehydrogenation, is carried out in a distillation column, including a depletion zone and a rectification zone, associated with a dehydrogenation reaction zone containing one or more catalyst beds for dehydrogenation of the naphthene contained in the feedstock in the presence of a dehydrogenation catalyst and a hydrogen-containing gas stream. The feedstock is withdrawn from the reaction zone at one or more withdrawal levels and represents at least part of the liquid flowing in the distillation zone, the output product of the reaction zone being at least partially re-introduced into the distillation zone to ensure continuity of distillation. An output product including most of the hydrogen is discharged from the top of the distillation zone and an output product containing most of the dehydrogenated naphthene is dis charged from the bottom of the distillation zone. |
