A method of assessing in a subject the likelihood whether said subject will be non-responsive or responsive to treatment with a drug the primary mode of action of which is via a process of altered synaptic activity, the method comprising detecting the presence or absence of DNA comprising the E2 allele of the ApoE gene, or of protein expressed by said DNA, in a biological sample obtained from said subject. The method is exemplified with an atypical neuroleptic agent, i.e. clozapine. |
