The invention relates to a method of producing packaging pouches (1) filled with flowable material and made of flexible, sealable material (strip 16) with a bottom, a head region and side walls. During said method, a pouch is formed by shaping, filling (25) and separating (at 29) in a vertical (20) treatment section and a downstream, horizontal treatment section (H). To produce standing packages more easily to reduce technical outlay in comparison to known methods, the invention proposes that the packaging pouches (1) are filled on the vertical treatment section (20), are tightly sealed (at 26, 29), are transferred to the horizontal treatment section (H) and are finally moulded thereon until able to stand.
