Weft movement in warp knitter

To lay under long wefts, in a warp knitter, air is blown in pulses as the needles are withdrawn, to the rear sides of the needles to support the stripping action. The pulsed blown air action starts directly as the wefts are laid under, to the time when the needle points cross the wefts on the knocking-over stroke. The air delivery is stopped before the needles are in the extended position on the following working stroke of the knitting yarn. Also claimed is a mechanism where the magnet valve (52) is between a pressure line (53) with a large volume parallel to the bars of the working components, and the outlet openings (51) directly at the knitting needles.
