Balanced four cylinder piston internal combustion engine

The four cylinder piston engine has a crankshaft (1) with four guiding contours (13) for supporting balance weights (10). The weights are pivotable and extend at right angles to the axis of the crankshaft. Two of the balance weights (10.1,10.2) are arranged in the region of the crankshaft rear bearing and two further weights (10.3,10.4) in the area of the middle bearings. Each balance weight has a torsion spring (8), and each of the two torsion springs are arranged parallel to both sides of the crankshaft.
