The system is for use between two bodies (4,5) sliding to-and-fro in a straight line in relation to each other, on approaching their end positions. A damping unit (47) on one body (4,7) works with a stop surface (38) on the other one. The damping unit works in both directions, being situated between the surfaces (56) of impact members (48,48') facing in opposite directions. These surfaces face towards stop surfaces (38) on the other body (5,6). Each member normally assumes a basic position not movable in the axial direction in relation to its respective stop surface, but deflects on impact so as to shorten the damping unit, which is supported in the basic position by the other member. The damping unit can consist of a fluidic shock-damper (57). |
