<p>A curable coating composition is provided that has: (A) a curable non-gelled amine group-containing resin wherein at least a portion of the amine groups are primary amine groups and wherein the amine group-containing resin is formed by reacting a) an epoxy group-containing material; and b) an amine derivative; and (B) capped polyisocyanate curing agent. In component (A) the amine derivative has at least one group which is reactive with epoxy groups and at least one primary amine group which is blocked as a ketimine group through reaction of the primary amine group with a ketone in which the carbons attached to the carbonyl carbon of the ketone are secondary carbons. An aqueous composition of the amine group-containing resin is provided through at least partial neutralization of the amine group-containing resin with acid. Also provided is the coating composition as an electrodepositable composition. Also, the curable non-gelled amine group-containing resin is provided for use in coating compositions.</p> |
