Height control for motor vehicle seat

The vehicle seat is provided with an inflatable cushion (18) in the support structure. A pressure sensor underneath the cushion monitors the loading on the seat and activates a pressure pump or a suction pump to set the pressure at an optimum level in relation to the weight of the seated occupant. The pressure sensor has a sensor beam and contact plates, is spring-loaded against the loading, and switches limit the extend of the control in either direction.
