Pre-start self-diagnosing system for motor vehicle

The self-diagnosing system includes a code generator to provide control signals to check the control system for the automatic transmission before the start of the vehicle. A switch on period is followed by an abnormality check. The diagnosis sequence is then operated for a set number of cycles. The diagnosis system uses the switch on characteristics of the control solenoids to activate the diagnosis sequence. This sequence is operated in preset time intervals and in a set sequence.
