Method of attaining required residual humidity of wood fibres for throughflow drying process

The method involves approaching the required residual moisture level before the fibres are introduced into an air stream for drying. Before the discharge of the damp fibres from the drying gas stream, steam and atomised water are discharged from the gas stream. This enables the required residual moisture ratio to be achieved during the drying process. A control system regulates the residual humidity. The damp fibres are introduced in to the dryer and the steam and water supply is simultaneously fed back.
