Bird food with restricted methionine, lysine and threnonine and added L-carnitine and vitamin C

Preparation of bird food, especially for rearing young birds, containing a high plant content and added minerals, in which the amino acid content is reduced and at the same time the energy content and raw protein content are controlled. Preferably the food comprises methionine (0.12 wt.%), lysine (0.18 wt.%) and L-carnitine (0.02 wt.%). For laying hens the raw protein content is 5.4-6.8 wt.% and the vitamin C content is 1880-220 mg/kg food (similar with respect to L-carnitine).
