Four=stroke piston engine

The piston engine has integrated charging. It consists of an Otto-cycle four-stroke engine. The engine casing, above the crankcase, has additional inlet (E) or transfer (U) channels on the same principle as a two-stroke engine. The working or combustion stroke takes place above the piston, and the additional charge pressure is created in the crankcase. The engine may have an injection unit. The inlet and transfer channels may be activated selectively only in every other rev.
