Measuring gauge for horizontal and vertical surfaces

The measuring gauge has respective light-emitting diodes (1,2) providing a visible light signal when the measured surface is exactly horizontal or vertical, by closure of a battery operated current circuit. The light-emitting diode (1) providing the horizontal indication is incorporated in the top surface of the housing of the measuring device. The other light-emitting diode (2) is incorporated in one end face of the housing, each connected to the battery (3) via a respective switch lever (6) positioned in the closed position when the housing is horizontal or vertical.
