A high-pressure cleaning apparatus has a piston pump which has a swashplate, is driven by an air-cooled electromotor through a set of gears and carries a pump head with a suction pipe and a pressure pipe. In order to develop such a high-pressure cleaning apparatus and thus achieve a good cleaning power, an improved ease of handling and a lower weight, the electromotor, the set of gears, the piston pump and the pump head are successively arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the high-pressure cleaning apparatus, and the electromotor is designed as a universal motor with a laminated stator and a rotor, the laminated stator being longer than the diameter of the rotor.
