The support strut (6) in its axial edge sections (6a,6c) in the area of the pipe ends (3,4) has a greater stiffness and a larger cross-sectional surface than in its centre section (6b). The change in stiffness takes place continuously over the whole length of the support strut. The support strut lies radially outside the corrugated hose with a gap between it and the generated surface of the corrugated hose. The longitudinal axis (9) of the support strut extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the corrugated hose.
