The system (1) includes a CRT video display screen (2) which is connected to a conventional computer (3) with a keyboard (4) and mouse (5). The video display comprises a conventional frame scanning CRT operating, for example, to super video graphic adapter (SVGA) standards. Adjacent to the screen is a portable detector (7) which is worn as a wrist watch (8) by the user of the system. This includes detection circuits which can intercept the video image scanning information in order to detect the x,y scanning information and the timing of the signals. Information displayed on the screen (9) may be transferred to the wrist watch detector. The information is detected as a series of pulses and saw-tooth waves for analysis to enable updating of information stored within wrist watch detector.
