PURPOSE:To raise a decomposition power for ozone, to adsorb other harmful gases and to elongate a catalyst life by forming an ozone decomposition catalyst, wherein manganese oxide and a fire retarding material are supported by a pulverized or fibrous active carbon. CONSTITUTION:In case of using pulverized active carbon, it can be stuck to a surface of felt, paper or honeycomb after manganese oxide is supported, and in case of using fibrous carbon, it is formed into felt, paper or honeycomb shape before or after manganese oxide is supported. The supporting amount of manganese oxide is preferably 0.1-20wt.%. As an addition of a fire retarding material to pulverized or fibrous active carbon, 0.01-30wt.% publicly known fire retarding material is usable. The obtained ozone decomposition catalyst decomposes O3 efficiently, has a long catalyst life and adsorbs harmful gases other than O3 effectively. |
