The malfunction prevention sensor having a sensing unit 10 for sensing the infrared rays, a first stage amplifier 12 for amplifying a detecting signal output from the sensing unit 10, an RC filter R1, C1 for filtering an amplification signal output from the first stage amplifier 12, a comparator 14 for comparing the signal output from the RC filter R1, C1 and a wave processor 16 for processing a pulse wave output from the comparator 14, has a noise inhibit circuit 20 which is formed at the front stage of the comparator 14 to inhibit the noise elements contained in the detecting signal which is to be input to the comparator 14 by setting the noise level by using a plurality of resistors and diodes D1 and D2.
