Process for making a solid based on silica and titanium and use of this solid for the epoxydation of olefins

Preparing particulate silica-based solids containing Ti, which comprises the contacting of a suspension containing an initial amorphous silica in an aqueous medium at a basic pH with TiF3 or TiF4 in an amount equivalent to 0.1 - 10% Ti relative to wt. of SiO2. Also claimed is its use as an oxidation catalyst.
