The invention has a collector container 22, capable of moving laterally with respect to a general frame 1 of the machine, in order to leave its opening directly accessible for the deposition of the waste, which container, after it has been filled, is located within the frame 1 under a pressing head 21 which gives rise to the compacting of the waste. The bottom of the container 22 is embodied in a tray 23 which can move together with or independently of the rest of the container, in such a manner that, after compacting, said tray 23 can be removed laterally so that the compacted block of waste can descend to a packaging unit 3 where said block is placed in a bag which is closed and which shrinks to fit. The tray 23 also acts as a collector for liquid waste, channelling this to a lateral collector with drainage outlet 41 and an impulsion pump 42 on the outside. Suitably distributed washing nozzles allow periodic cleaning of the elements which are in contact with the waste. <IMAGE>
