PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fixing at nearly the same speed in the same manner in any selected image mode such as a black-and-white printing and color printing by controlling either or both of a transfer paper carrying path passing through a nip between a fixing roller and a pressure member and pressure in the nip in accordance with the selection of the image mode. SOLUTION: When a 1st control panel 11 is operated to select a 1st image mode, for instance, a signal for the mode is inputted in a control means 10, and a separation mechanism functions to move a 2nd pressure roller 5 downward and separate it from a 2nd fixing roller 4. At such a time, a 1st fixing roller 2 is heated by a heated heater according to the control means 10, and carried paper 14 and toner 19 are heated and pressurized between the 1st fixing roller 2 and the 1st pressure roller 3 so as to fix the toner 19 on the surface of the paper 14. When the 2nd image mode is selected, the toner 19 is fixed on the surface of the paper 14 by the 2nd fixing roller 4 and the 2nd pressure roller 5. |
