The device is used for the manufacture of heavy radial-ply tyres. It is simplified and has greater reliability and precisions in the performance of the operations. It includes a bogie with grips, mechanism for cutting with disc-type knife, a flat knife in contact with the former and a unit for pressing down the material. A pneumatic cylinder (24) is attached to bogie (10) to which cylinder (24), vaccuum grips (24) and counter-knife (21) are fitted by means of a guide (19) and systems of levers (23). Bogie (10) is fixed by means of a pneumatic cylinder (15), cone (16) and rollers (28) to the cutting mechanism (9)./!
