PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the titling method and its device obtaining the gain change an phase change having a characteristics at least equal to that of a well-known method and device even when remarkably reducing the cost of a circuit. SOLUTION: A signal is divided in to equal tow nonlinear partial circuit networks arranged between two couplers and provided with compression gain characteristic to generate the compression or extension of the gain of a partial signal E or K by different reflecting characteristics corresponding to signal levels at two gates. Then the level of the nonlinear partial signal extending the gain is raised and amplified by a linear amplifier to synthesize a signal E2 extending the gain and the signal K compressing the gain to be an output signal through the use of an additional circuit network. The device is provided with a nonlinear partial circuit network NL1 , one amplifier Lin for raising the level of the partial signal E and an adding circuit network for synthesizing the partial signal E2 amplified by this amplifier Lin and the other signal K to be the output signal.
