PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new canine immunoglobulin E peptide fragment containing a consecutive specified number of amino acid sequences of a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, and useful, as e.g. an antigen for producing anti-canine immunoglobulin E antibody to be used for canine allergy diagnoses etc. SOLUTION: This new canine immunoglobulin E peptide fragment contains at least five consecutive amino acid sequences in a peptide expressed by the formula, and is useful as e.g. an antigen for producing anti-canine immunoglobulin E antibody to be used for canine allergy diagnoses. This peptide fragment is obtained by the following process: a genome DNA is extracted by conventional means from the hepatocyte of dog(s) affected with allergy, and cloned by PCR method using a primer a synthesized oligonucleotide consisting of part of a gene coding for immunoglobulin E, and the resultant DNA coding for a canine immunoglobulin E peptide fragment is then integrated into a vector and manifested in host cells.
