PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a granular noise peculiar to a pseudo halftone display generated at the time of moving picture. SOLUTION: One frame is constituted of sub-frames SFn-SF1 and an additional sub-frame (SF1), and this device is provided with a frame memory 22 and an operation circuit 24. By the operation using input video signals of present frame and former frame, the matter that a luminance level is changed from the level (e.g. (7)) of (2<k> -1) to the level (e.g. (8)) of (2<k> ) between frames, is discriminated, and a display drive signal lighting k pieces of SFk-SF1 and (SF1) is outputted. A signal level variable amount between frames is one, and even when a light emission luminance level change is seemed to be one or above (case of changing from (7) to (8)) in an usual example, since the luminance level ((8)) after change is displayed by the lighting of SFk-SF1 (e.g. three pieces of SF3-SF1) and (SF1) of the luminance level ((7)) before change (luminance level (7)+(1)), the float-up of the luminance level (8) is suppressed. |
