PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of separating blood components to remove leukocytes from blood by which air will not be mixed in a separated blood component bag. SOLUTION: For this method, a set of blood bags consisting of a blood- collection bag 3, an erythrocyte preservative liquid bag 7, and a separated blood component bag 9 is used. The blood-collection bag 3 is connected to the upstream side of a leukocyte removal filter 5, and the erythrocyte preservative liquid bag 7 and the separated blood component bag 9 are connected to the downstream side of the leukocyte removal filter 5. Erythrocyte preservative liquid flows through the leukocyte removal filter 5 to the blood-collection bag 3, and air in the leukocyte removal filter 5 is let out into the blood-collection bag 3. And after that, the blood inside the blood-collection bag 3 flows through the leukocyte removal filter 5 and the leukocytes are removed. After the leukocytes are removed, the remaining blood is centrifuged, and plasma is kept in the separated blood component bag 9 and erythrocyte is kept in the erythrocyte preservative liquid bag 7. |
