At least one switching contact is arranged in a switching chamber which is at least partially filled with liquid and is provided with an outlet opening for gas which develops in the switching chamber during switching. The switching chamber is connected to a measuring device (1 to 4) which is intended for recording the quantity of gas developed in the switching chamber while the current is being switched off. The measuring device has a manometer (1) which is connected to an integrating counting mechanism (4). The value displayed by the counting mechanism is used as a measure of the stress on the circuit breaker and thus enables an assessment to be made on whether it is due for maintenance. <IMAGE> |
