PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the waste in memory utilization and to make a user possible to generate layer tones by a simple operation by storing the tone color link information which instructs whether link pronounciation is to be executed or not in a freely writing-in manner. SOLUTION: The electronic musical instrument 10 is provided with a CPU 11 in which a RAM 12 is used as a working region and the program stored in a ROM 13 is executed. Moreover, the instrument 10 is provided with panel switches 14. By operating the switches 14, the setting and the change of bank link switches (an example of tone color link information), the selection specification of the tone colors used in a performance, the setting and the change of tone color parameters and various instructions to the instrument 10 are executed. The bank link switches are stored in the link information storage region located in the RAM 12. If the tone color link information instructs a link pronounciation, a link pronounciation is executed. Therefore, the necessity of making a room for the unused parameter area is eliminated and the memory utilization efficiency is improved. |
