PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful as a medicine, especially a transglutaminase inhibitor. SOLUTION: This compound of formula I: F-11754a or its salt, or a compound of formula II: F-11754b or its salt. The compounds are obtained by culturing a fungus belonging to the genus Aspergillus and capable of producing F-11754a and/or F-11754b and subsequently collecting the compounds from the culture product. The physicochemical properties of the compound of formula I are shown below. Nature: a colorless needle-like crystalline substance; melting point: 66-69 deg.C; solubility: soluble in organic solvents such as methanol or ethyl acetate, insoluble in water; molecular formula: C11 H16 O3 ; mol.wt.: 196 ([M+H]<+> 197.1169 (measured value) by high resolution FABMS method), etc. The compound of formula II exhibits the following physicochemical properties. Nature: a colorless oily substance; solubility: soluble in organic solvents such as methanol or ethyl acetate, insoluble in water; molecular formula: C9 H12 O3 ; mol.wt.: 168 ([M+H]<+> 169.0875 (measured value) by high performance FABMS method)), etc. |
