GARBAGE TREATMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the crushing treatment and handling properties of garbage by allowing the discharge port of garbage to communicate with the gap provided between a crushing mechanism and an electromotor. SOLUTION: The garbage sent from above under pressure by a screw 28 is finely crushed and cut by a crushing mechanism 8 to be pushed out to a lower gap 34 and the crushed garbage is rapidly discharged toward a lateral outlet 35. A disc-shaped moving element 37 having a spiral surface reverse to that of the screw 28 is attached to a rotary shaft 6A so as to cover a shaft seal device 38 and pushes garbage upwardly to prevent the same from penetrating into the shaft seal device 38 to keep hermetical sealability. A disc made of rubber is provided to the rotary shaft 6A between the shaft seal device 38 and an electromotor 6. Since the screw 28 and a rotary blade 30 have a diameter smaller than that of a charging port 4 and a passage 20 is also formed into an inverted cone shape, only by injecting a small amt. of water during crushing, water and garbage are guided to a lower crushing part and garbage can be efficiently crushed while water saving is achieved.
