PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive lithium secondary battery capable of heavy current discharge and quick charge with high energy density, and having a long charge and discharge life. SOLUTION: This battery has a negative electrode capable of charging and discharging lithium ion, a positive electrode capable of reversibly and electrochemically reacting with lithium ion, and an electrolyte obtained by dissolving an ion dissociating lithium salt in a nonaqueous solvent. As the nonaqueous solvent of the electrolyte, a mixed solvent containing dimethyl carbonate, ethylene carbonate, and methyl acetate is used. The nonaqueous solvent preferably contains 10-60% of ethylene carbonate, 20-60% of dimethyl carbonate, and 5-40% of methyl acetate on the basis of capacity. |
