PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the internal resistance of an electrode and to improve the strength of the electrode by mixing vapor-phase grown carbon fiber and carbon. SOLUTION: In a carbon particle 1, vapor-phase grown carbon fibers 2 are mixed by about 0.5% in weight ratio, and an electrode is manufactured. At this time, the carbon particles 1 each have a small before the foatmotion of graphite. Furthermore, the vapor-phase grown carbon fibers 2 are mixed into polyvinylidene chloride resin at a weight ratio of about 0.5%. The mixture undergoes initial carbonization at about 300 deg.C. Then, the obtained initial carbonate is crushed so as to obtain a specified particle size and fed into a carbon die. The carbide is compressed and molded, and heat treatment is performed. In this way, the internal resistance of an electrode is decreased, and the strength of the electrode can be improved at the same time. |
