In known removal apparatuses for elongate material, the roller chains on which the clamping jaws are fastened must be manually retensioned. If this retensioning does not take place soon enough, increased wear of the roller chains and of the chain wheels can occur. The novel removal apparatus has tensioning elements (41) which exert a tensile force in the direction away from the drive chain wheels (33) on the at least two tensioning chain wheels (35) which are displaceable with their bearing housings (37) in the longitudinal direction of the roller chains (19). A self-locking wedge (99) prevents the tensioning chain wheels (35) from oscillating back and forth. The automatic resetting of the roller chains (19) reduces the wear of the removal apparatus (17) and avoids speed changes during transportation of the elongate material (23). The removal apparatus according to the invention is suitable in particular for transporting cables and pipes.

|
