PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a low gloss surface by a coloring matter receiving element having a composite film having a microvoid thermoplastic core layer and at least one substantially voide-free thermoplastic surface layer. SOLUTION: A thermal coloring matter transfer low gloss receiving element is produced by applying a polyolefin resin (1) and a composite film (2) consisting of a microvoid thermoplastic core layer and a substantially void-free thermoplastic surface layer to a support by extrusion lamination. In this case, an extrusion lamination method is performed by at least an embossed cooling roll having average surface roughness (Ra) of 1.5μm and a pressure roll and, subsequently, the composite film is coated with a polymer coloring matter image receiving layer.
