PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new safe compound, having inhibiting actions on cell adhesion and low toxicity and useful for preventing and treating acute cardiac infarction, cerebral apoplexy, arteriosclerosis, etc. SOLUTION: This compound of formula I [G is amidino or amino; D is a spacer of 2-6 atomic chains in which a hetero-atom and/or a 5- to a 6-membered ring may intermediate; R<1> is H, benzyl, etc.; R<2> and R<3> are each a residue after removing CH(NH2 )COOH from anα-amino acid or R<1> and R<2> may form a 5- or a 6-membered ring with the adjacent N or C; X is H or a lower alkyl; Z is a group capable of forming an anion or a group convertible thereinto in vivo]] or its salt [except (S)-4-(4-amidinobenzoylglycyl)-3- methoxycarbonylmethyl-2oxopiperazine-1-acetic acid or its salt], e.g. (S)-4-(4- aminobenzoylglycyl)-2-oxopiperazine-1,3-diacetic acid. The compound is obtained by condensing, e.g. a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III.
