<p>The invention relates to a mailbox having a housing which has a rear wall, an upper covering wall and two side walls and is provided with an insertion slot. The housing 4 comprises a hinged box 6 which has a front wall 22, a bottom wall 28 and two side walls 24, 26. The side walls 24, 26 of the hinged box 6 are connected to the side walls 12, 14 of the housing 4 so as to be rotatable in the region of the bottom 28. The side walls of the hinged box are connected in the region of their upper ends by a connecting rod 34 whose pivoting range is bounded by a bar 20 to form an insertion slot 36, which bar is arranged pivotably in the housing. The hinged box 6 is prestressed into the closure position by a prestressing device 42, 44, 46, 48 and can be pivoted forwards beyond the prestressing device for emptying the mailbox. Improved handling is achieved by this design of the mailbox. The mailbox is suitable for an arrangement in rows adjacently and one above the other without gaps. <IMAGE></p> |
