PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer capable of executing immediate printing operation after the occurrence of an error. SOLUTION: A printer comprises an engine 108 that executes printing, a hard disk 114 of a data storing medium and a control section 100 that controls the operations of the hard disk 114 and engine 108. When an error occurs, an error signal is not outputted until data receiving is finished and developing operation is stopped, then data after that is directly saved to the hard disk 114. When it is relieved from the error and the print operation can be executed, the error signal is canceled and the succeeding data is read from the hard disk 114 to continue the developing operation thereof. When there is not data in the hard disk 114, the data is read from an input buffer. When there is data in the hard disk 114, it is read from the hard disk 114, then the operation is executed.
