In the present invention a photoconductive composition and a bulb are provided for cathode ray tubes (CRT) having a photoconductive layer formed as the basic ingredient therefrom. The photoconductive composition comprises from 5 to 15 percent by weight of a charge-transmitting substance, represented by structural formula (1) wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, linear alkyl or branched alkyl from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, halogen, alkylamino (NR1), alkyl ester (COOR1) and alphacyanomethylalkylketone (CH(CN)CORO2), R1 and R2 are selected from the group consisting of alkyl from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, aryl, alkoxy and aryloxy from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and n is a integer between 500 and 1000; from 1 to 15 percent by weight of a charge-generating substance adsorbing light in an ultraviolet region wave length; from 70 to 94 percent by weight of a binder; and from 0.05 to 1 percent by weight of a surfactant agent. The photoconductive composition exhibits excellent sintering characteristics and forms a photoconductive layer having excellent sensitivity, durability and luminance. |
